Conservation Volunteer trip
HERD - Limpopo South Africa

AUGUST 2nd to AUGUST 9, 2024

Reclaimed Earth is delighted to be partnering once again with HERD to offer you a very special experience in beautiful South Africa. The HERD Orphanage was established to provide rehabilitation to orphaned elephant calves and is dedicated to the conservation of this marvelous species. Throughout this unique conservation safari, we will explore the incredible landscapes and wildlife of 'the elephant coast' - home to elephants, rhinos, lions, leopards, cheetah, warthog, and so many other wonderful species. You will have the opportunity to interact with the "HERD" and learn first-hand the critical role elephants play in the ecosystem. During your seven-day trip, you will learn about wildlife conservation work and the challenges facing elephants, as well as other species that share their ecosystems. Not only will you learn about the importance of & science behind habitat protection and other conservation topics, but you will also get to personally help while working hands-on together with ecologists and rangers.

The total cost of your trip is $3550.

  • $2550: Pays for all accommodations, meals, ground transport, and all day & night activities.

  • $1000: Is a donation the volunteer is responsible for raising to support HERD's critical conservation work. This includes funding of the care and feed of the orphaned elephant herd, anti poaching, and community projects.
