Partnership with Wild Tomorrow Fund in Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa

Kwazulu-Natal, South Africa has had success in diminishing the number of poaching incidents within the various reserves by implementing strong anti-poaching unit training, community outreach, support, and education, and ethical dehornings.  Wild Tomorrow Fund is a non-profit actively involved in all of these aspects of conservation in the region.  Their most recent project includes the acquisition of land surrounding the Mun-ya-wana conservancy, Ukuwela and Mfuleni, in hopes of rehabilitating the land to expand the conservancy. In 2019, Reclaimed Earth raised approximately $7,000 and sent seven volunteers for conservation work on Ukuwela and Mfuleni.  We look to support their efforts by providing volunteers and funding throughout 2019.

Hoedspruit Elephant Rehabilitation and Development

Hoedspruit Elephant Rehabilitation and Development (HERD) is the first South African dedicated elephant orphanage.  HERD's primary goal is to rehabilitate orphaned elephants, to give them a new family, and a second chance of life with another herd.  The orphanage lies adjacent to the Jabulani Herd stables on the Kapama Private Game Reserve, which provides a unique adoptive family structure for baby elephants in need.

Rhino Orphans

Every individual matters, if we are to save the species.  Reclaimed Earth supports orphaned rhinos through the work of The Rhino Orphanage and Zululand Rhino Orphanage.  These organizations provide essential care and safe homes to orphaned rhinos, with the hope they can one day return to the wild.

Anti-Poaching

Each year we dedicate a good portion of our resources to providing equipment for rangers, snare patrols, rhino monitoring and rhino dehorning at a variety of reserves across South Africa.
